Feathery Fudge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. soft butter or margarine
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 sq. (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/4 tsp. soda
    1 1/4 c. ice water
Preparation
    Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy (beat 5 minutes at high speed on mixer, scraping bowl occasionally to guide butter into beaters or beat 5 minutes by hand).
    Blend in chocolate.
    Sift flour with soda and salt.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with ice water.
    Beat after each addition.
    Bake in two paper-lined 9 x 1 1/2-inch round pans in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
    Frost cooled cake with Chocolate Satin Frosting.
