Peach Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sliced fresh or canned peaches
    1/4 c. margarine, softened
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Place peach slices in an 8-inch square pan.
    Cream margarine and 3/4 cup sugar.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
    Spoon mixture over fruit. Sift together remaining 1 cup sugar, nutmeg and cornstarch; sprinkle over batter.
    Pour water over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes.
    Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.

    6 servings.
