Old-Fashioned Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 (8 1/4 oz. size) cans sliced pineapple in heavy syrup
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2/3 c. light brown sugar, packed
    1/3 c. pecan halves
    1 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
    1 c. heavy cream, chilled or 1 pt. ice cream
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Drain pineapple slices; reserve 2 tablespoons of syrup.
    In pan, melt butter over medium heat.
    Add brown sugar; stir until sugar is melted.
    Remove from heat. Arrange 8 pineapple slices on sugar mixture (1 in middle, others overlapping).
    Put pecans in middle.
    Halve remaining pineapple and arrange on edge; add pecans.
