Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. all-bran
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3 c. sugar
    1 1/3 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1 qt. buttermilk
    5 c. flour
    5 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    4 c. all-bran
Preparation
    Pour 2 cups of boiling water over 2 cups all-bran, dates and nuts and let cool for 10 minutes.
    Cream together the sugar, shortening, eggs and all-bran mixture.
    Add buttermilk, flour, soda, salt and 4 cups all-bran.
    Mix well.
    Refrigerate.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Use as needed.
    Keeps in refrigerator for 4 to 6 weeks.
