Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak (1/2-inch thick), cut into cubes
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. cut up onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. tomato juice
    4 oz. mushrooms
    1/2 c. Pet milk
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 c. cooked rice or noodles
Preparation
    Brown round steak in shortening.
    Add onions, salt and pepper. Blend in flour, tomato juice and mushrooms.
    Cover all.
    Cook over low heat 1 hour or until meat is tender.
    Stir in mixture of Pet milk and lemon juice.
    Heat until steaming but do not boil. Serve over rice or noodles.
    Makes 6 servings.
