Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick cooking oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats.
    Let stand 20 minutes.
    Cream shortening, white sugar and brown sugar.
    Mix with oats.
    Add eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together and add to mixture flour, soda, cinnamon and salt.
    Bake in 9 x 14-inch pan for 25 minutes at 350\u00b0, then put on topping.
