Jumbles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. flour
    3/4 lb. sugar (1 1/2 c. plus 3 Tbsp.)
    1/2 lb. butter
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. rosewater
Preparation
    Cream the butter; gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy, then add flavoring and eggs, beating all together until light.
    Stir in the flour and mix to a stiff dough.
    The dough can be chilled at this point for easier handling.
