Cherry Whip Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 egg whites
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. soda crackers, broken to the size of a dime
Preparation
    Beat egg whites stiff with sugar.
    Add cream of tartar to hold firm.
    Add vanilla and pecans.
    Add broken soda crackers.
    Mix well and bake in 9 x 13-inch pan 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Set aside to cool at room temperature.
    Add Cool Whip on top of crust, then top with cherry pie filling and chill 2 or 3 hours.
