Lebkuchen (German Pastry) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. honey
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. allspice
1/3 c. cut-up citron
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix honey and molasses.
Boil and stir in sugar, egg, lemon juice and rind.
Add flour.
Blend in dry ingredients.
Mix in citron and nuts.
Chill overnight.
Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Roll small amount at a time, keeping rest chilled.
Roll 1/4-inch thick.
Cut into oblong pieces.
Place 1-inch apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
Immediately remove from pan.
Cool; store to mellow.
