Exploding Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. nuts
    1 1/2 c. coconut
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    4 1/2 c. crushed Rice Chex
    1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Melt butter; mix with other ingredients, except ice cream. Put half of mixture on bottom of a well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Cover with 1/2 gallon softened ice cream.
    Smooth with a spoon; cover with remaining mixture.
    Cover with foil and freeze.
