Ingredients

1 3/4 c. unbleached flour
1/2 c. wheat germ or whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. sugar or honey
3 eggs, separated
1/4 c. oil
1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Separate eggs.
Set egg whites aside.
Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl (including sugar).
Combine in 2-cup measuring cup the egg yolks, oil and milk.
Stir with fork (including honey if used).
Beat egg whites until fluffy and stiff; set aside.
Add wet ingredients to flour mix and fold together.
(Do not beat.)
Add whipped egg whites and continue to fold until all ingredients are lightly mixed.
Pour in 1 cup scoops onto waffle iron.
Cook lightly.
Serve with favorite topping.
