Ingredients

2 large onions, sliced
1/4 c. cooking oil
2 lb. bag or jar sauerkraut, rinsed and drained well (press down)
2 lb. fresh kielbasa (Polish sausage), cut into 3-inch pieces
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 can of water
Preparation

Heat oil in skillet and fry onions on medium heat until caramelized.
Set aside.
Brown sausage.
Layer half of the sauerkraut in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
Then layer half the onions.
Next, layer all of the sausage, the other half of the sauerkraut and onions.
Mix the water and soup together and pour over the top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Cover with foil the last 15 minutes.
Better made early and reheated.
