Baked Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large onions, sliced thin
    1/3 c. oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    2 qt. beef broth
    1/2 c. scalded milk
    4 beef bouillon cubes
    3 c. croutons
    1 lb. shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Preparation
    Add oil and butter and heat.
    Add sliced onions and cook, covered, until almost tender.
    Uncover and brown lightly.
    Take off heat and add the flour (mix).
    Let sit for 3 minutes.
    Return to heat and add the beef broth; cook slowly for 1/2 hour.
    Add scalded milk and remove from heat and stir.
