Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
    3 medium carrots, sliced
    1/3 c. pearl barley
    1 Tbsp. instant beef bouillon granules
    5 c. water (or less with tomato juice)
    2 medium onions, chopped
    2 stalks celery, sliced
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Brown meat
    and
    drain\toff
    fat.
    Add water, undrained tomatoes, onions, carrots, celery, barley, beef granules, salt and pepper.
    Bring
    to\ta boil and simmer, covered, for 1 hour or when vegetables
    are tender.
    (Cabbage and/or kidney beans may also be added.)
