Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 egg
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Beat egg and add milk, sugar and vanilla.
Sift flour and add soda, salt and baking powder.
Then add a heaping cupful of lard; knead well.
Roll thin and cut.
Bake in a hot oven until brown.
