English Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 egg yolk
    2 c. flour
    1 (6 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1/2 c. chopped nutmeats
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt margarine and add to it the brown sugar, vanilla and egg yolk.
    Beat until fluffy.
    Add the flour and blend together.
    Mixture will be quite thick.
    Spread into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips and put back in oven for 5 minutes.
    Remove from oven and sprinkle with nutmeats.
    Cut while warm.
    Makes about 2 dozen bars.
