Aloo-M-Kalla(Golden Deep-Fried Potatoes) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. firm potatoes (about 24 small)
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
    about 3 c. corn oil
Preparation
    Peel the whole potatoes evenly.
    Arrange the potatoes in a pot.
    Cover them completely with oil.
    Add salt, turmeric and 1 cup of water.
    Bring this to a boil over medium-to-high heat, then lower heat to low simmer.
    Cover pot with lid.
    Continue to simmer for 45 minutes until the potatoes have formed a golden crust.
