Watergate Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. instant pistachio pudding (dry, do not mix)
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple (2 1/2 c. in its own juice, not in syrup)
    1 c. miniature marshmallows
    1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    finely chopped walnuts or pecans and cherries
Preparation
    Combine in order.
    Turn into 9 x 13-inch pan (or bowl) and sprinkle with nuts and cherries.
    Chill until firm.
    Serve as salad or dessert.
