Strawberry Charlotte Russe - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 commercial or homemade jelly roll
    1 pkg. strawberry-flavored gelatin
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. miniature marshmallows
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    2 egg whites
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. heavy cream, whipped
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cut jelly roll into 1/2-inch slices and place around the bottom and sides of an oiled 2 1/2-quart mixing bowl.
    In another container, dissolve gelatin in hot water.
    Add marshmallows and partially defrosted strawberries, stirring until marshmallows dissolve.
    Add lemon juice.
    Chill until partially congealed; beat until fluffy.
    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
    Gradually beat in sugar.
    Fold into gelatin mixture.
    Blend in whipped cream and nuts.
    Pile mixture lightly into jelly roll-lined bowl.
    Chill until firm.
    Unmold and serve.
    Yields 10 to 12 servings.
