Mother'S Homemade Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. whole milk
    2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sweet cream
    4 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Make custard of milk, cornstarch, egg yolks and sugar, preferably in double boiler.
    Chill overnight.
    When ready to freeze, add beaten egg whites, vanilla and cream.
    Freeze in hand cranked freezer or an electric one.
