Hattie Shannon'S Peanut Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    3 c. flour
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Cream sugars, shortening and peanut butter; add beaten eggs. Sift flour; measure and sift again with salt and soda.
    Add vanilla.
    Add dry ingredients and nuts to creamed mixture.
    Mix well.
    Mold into balls; place on cookie sheet and flatten with fork, scoring both ways.
    Bake in moderate oven, 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0, for 7 to 10 minutes.
    Makes about 5 1/2 dozen cookies.
