Quiche Lorraine - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pie crust
8 pieces cooked vegetarian bacon or 4 sausage patties
4 eggs or the equivalent egg substitute
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
1 c. grated cheese (Swiss or Cheddar)
3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Flour both sides of pie crust, place in ungreased pie plate. Cook in 350\u00b0 oven about 10 to 15 minutes, long enough so bottom of crust is slightly precooked.
This avoids a soggy crust.
Crumble bacon or sausage into small pieces.
Beat eggs, cream and salt. Stir in cheese and bacon/sausage.
Pour mixture into crust.
Bake 20 minutes in 450\u00b0 oven.
Turn oven down to 350\u00b0, bake 30 more minutes.
Quiche is cooked when knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
