Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. soft margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 to 1 c. sugar
    1 c. water or fruit juice
    4 c. sliced peaches (6 or 8 large fresh or frozen) *
Preparation
    *To use canned peaches, drain juice from 20 ounce can; reduce sugar to 1/4 cup and use reserved juice for topping over batter.
