Hawaiian Soda - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple (undrained)
    1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    1/2 c. mashed bananas
    1 pt. vanilla ice cream
    1 qt. orange soda, chilled
    1 pt. vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Place 2 tablespoons pineapple, 2 teaspoons cherries and 1 tablespoon banana in each of 6 tall glasses.
    Make 6 balls of ice cream.
    Place 1 ball in each glass.
    Stir to blend with fruit. Fill glass almost to the top with the orange soda.
    Make 6 more balls of ice cream from remaining pint.
    Top each soda with ice cream ball and serve immediately.
    Garnish with whipped cream and a whole cherry, if desired.
