Harvard Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1 can beets, sliced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in small saucepan.
    Bring to a boil; boil until clear.
    Add all other ingredients.
    Cook at a low temperature until warm all the way through.
