Ingredients

1 gal. beets, cook first; then wash and stem beets for mixture
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. water
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. vinegar
1 1/2 Tbsp. pickling spice
Preparation

Cook mixture to a boil;
then add beets and cook for 15 minutes.
Pack in hot jars;
then pour syrup over the beets.
