Welsh Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    3 1/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add flour, baking powder, soda, salt and nutmeg.
    Blend well.
    Stir in raisins, milk and egg.
    Roll out on floured board or pat carefully to 1/4-inch thick.
    Heat electric skillet at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0.
    Use no oil.
