Onion Fritter Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large onions, cut into 1/4-inch rings
    1 egg
    2/3 c. water
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Beat egg, water, shortening and lemon juice until frothy.
    Mix in dry ingredients until well blended.
    Dip onion rings; let excess batter drip off.
    Fry in small amounts in about 1-inch of oil which has been heated to 375\u00b0.
    Fry about 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Spread out in a single layer on cookie sheet.
    Place in 325\u00b0 oven to keep hot until remainder are cooked.
