Unstuffed Cabbage Italian - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 or 4 c. shredded or chopped cabbage
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 lb. ground beef
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 c. raw rice, sauteed in butter
    1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
    8 oz. can tomato sauce
    1 c. water
    additional cheese (if desired)
Preparation
    Brown rice and set aside.
    Brown beef, onion, salt and pepper. Add rice, then stir in half of cheese.
    Mix all together.
    In a greased casserole, layer cabbage and meat mixture until all are used.
    Combine tomato sauce and water; pour over top.
    Sprinkle with cheese and bake, covered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. More meat, sauce and cheese may be used, if desired.
