Lamb Barley Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lb. ground lamb
1 c. onions, chopped
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. sliced carrots
1 1/2 c. peas (fresh or frozen)
1/4 c. chopped parsley
2 bay leaves
1/2 c. barley
1 1/2 qt. water
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Melt butter in large pan; add lamb, onions and celery and cook until lamb is lightly browned, stirring often.
Pour off most of the fat.
Add carrots, peas, bay leaves, barley, water, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Cover and cook over low heat 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring often.
Add parsley. Serve piping hot.
