Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar, divided
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine 1/4 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan. Stirring constantly, add water and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
    Boil 1 minute; cool completely.
