2 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nuts (pecans)
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Mix flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and shortening until you have a mixture like corn meal.
Set aside 3/4 cup of this mixture for topping and the 1/2 cup nuts.
Then add egg, buttermilk and soda to remaining mixture.
Mix only until dry ingredients are well moistened.
Pour into 9-inch greased pan and cover with the topping.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
