Broccoli Pasta - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
1 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
1 bunch broccoli
1/2 lb. whole wheat ziti noodles
dash of nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
2 to 3 tomatoes, cut into wedges
Preparation

In heavy skillet, combine oil, butter, onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes or until garlic is golden.
Whisk in flour. Then gradually stir in the cream.
Cook stirring until thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese and remove from heat.
Cut broccoli into small pieces and then steam until tender, about 6 minutes.
Cook ziti according to package directions; drain.
Combine ziti and broccoli with sauce.
Toss gently until coated.
Sprinkle with nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Garnish with the tomatoes.
Makes 4 servings.
