Hickory Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    5 egg whites
    3 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    1 c. nuts
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. extract
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Sift flour and baking powder.
    Add alternately with milk.
    Then add well beaten egg whites.
    Add nuts. Bake in layers put together with Caramel Icing and nuts.
