Carolina Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. white crab meat
    1 pt. milk
    1 pt. cream
    1/2 stick butter
    2 Tbsp. sherry
    4 blades whole mace
    6 pieces lemon peel
    1/2 c. cracker crumbs
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Put milk in top of double boiler with mace and lemon peel; allow to simmer for a few minutes.
    Add crab, butter and cream; cook for 15 minutes.
    Thicken with cracker crumbs; season with salt and pepper.
    Allow to stand on back of stove for a few minutes to bring out the flavor.
    Just before serving, add sherry.
