Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1 lb. raisins
    3 c. cooked apples (dried)
    1 c. flour
    4 c. pecans
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. each; nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and allspice
Preparation
    Cream shortening, gradually adding sugar.
    Beat on medium speed about 8 to 10 minutes.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Add 1 cup flour sifted with spices.
    Mix dried apples with the soda added to them and sweetened with a small amount of sugar.
    Stir in raisins (cut up, if preferred). Add pecans and pour in tube pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
