Pineapple Monte Cristo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 slices day old bread
    1/2 c. margarine or butter, melted
    4 slices cooked ham (1/8-inch thick)
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can sliced pineapple, drained
    4 slices Swiss cheese
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/3 c. milk
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Trim crusts from bread.
    Brush margarine on both sides of each slice.
    Top four slices ham and second slice of bread.
    Arrange pineapple and cheese slices on top of each; cover with third slice of bread.
    Secure with toothpicks; cut in half diagonally. Combine eggs, milk and salt.
    Dip each half of sandwich in egg mixture.
    Brown on all sides in skillet, adding more margarine, if needed.
    Makes 4 servings.
