Heavenly Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large Bermuda onions, sliced thin
    2 heaping tsp. butter
    8 oz. Swiss cheese, grated
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1/2 can milk
    2 tsp. soy sauce
    French bread slices
Preparation
    Simmer sliced onions in a little water until tender.
    Add butter while onions are hot.
    Place in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle cheese on top, then the pepper.
    Heat the soup, milk and soy sauce; blend well.
    Pour over onions and cheese.
    Top with French bread slices that have been buttered; the slices should not be very thick and cut in fourths.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until bubbly and slightly browned.
