Caramel Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium sized red apples
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. dark corn syrup
    1 c. light cream
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Stick wooden skewers into stem end of apples.
    Combine corn syrup, cream and butter.
    Cook over low heat; add vanilla.
    Dip apples into syrup (work fast).
    Roll in coarsely chopped nuts, if desired.
    Place upright on well-greased cookie sheet to cool.
