Ever Crisp Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers (1/2-inch slices)
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    2 qt. vinegar
    2 qt. sugar
    1 Tbsp. pickling spices
Preparation
    Place cucumbers in stone jar and cover with water-lime solution.
    Let soak 24 hours, stirring often with a wooden spoon. Rinse well 3 times with cold water.
    Cover with cold water and let soak 3 hours.
    Drain and cover with vinegar, sugar, salt and spices.
    Let soak overnight.
    In the morning, boil entire mixture 35 minutes.
    Pack in hot sterilized jars.
