Roberta Luce'S Cloverleaf Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. scalded milk
    1 egg
    1 yeast cake or 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
Preparation
    Scald milk, add sugar.
    When lukewarm, add yeast mixture.
    Stir until smooth.
    Add 1/2 of the flour, then egg, salt and melted shortening.
    Mix well.
    Add remaining flour enough to make as soft dough as can be handled.
    Knead gently until smooth.
    Place in greased bowl.
    Let rise until doubled.
    Roll 1/3-inch thick.
    Cut into small circles.
    Brush with melted butter.
    Place three in each muffin cup.
    Let rise again.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until brown.
