Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    2/3 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. boiling water
    1/3 c. water
    1 pkg. yeast
    1 tsp. sugar
    6 to 7 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine oatmeal, brown sugar, shortening and salt.
    Cover with boiling water and let stand.
    Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup water and add sugar.
    Pour into oatmeal.
    Add flour and knead for 5 minutes. Put into greased bowl and let rise until double, about 1 hour. Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.
    Form 2 loaves and put in greased loaf pans.
    Let rise until double, about 45 minutes.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
