Light-As-A-Feather Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. molasses
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 c. flour (plain)
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over shortening.
    Add sugar, molasses and beaten eggs.
    Add sifted dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes. Good with applesauce.
