Spoon Breads(Serve With Roast And Gravy) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 eggs, separated
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Bring water to boil.
    Add shortening and salt.
    Stir in meal gradually and cook until thick and smooth, stirring constantly. Allow to cool.
    Stir in milk, egg yolks and baking powder.
    Pour in well-greased shallow baking dish.
    Bake in hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Cover for first half of cooking time.
