Pineapple Cheese Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 small pkg. dry lemon jello
    1 lb. cottage cheese
    1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
    cherries or nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Chill until set.
    Makes 15 to 18 servings.
    Serve on lettuce leaf.
