Apple Cake With Rum Sauce - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
4 c. diced apples
2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
Preparation

Mix shortening and sugar together.
Add beaten eggs and diced apples.
Sift and add dry ingredients.
Fold in raisins and nuts. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or two smaller, such as 8 x 8-inch, in 350\u00b0 oven for one hour.
