Hobo Can Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. raisins
    2 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 c. rum (optional)
Preparation
    Mix soda, raisins, rum and boiling water.
    Cover and let set for 2 hours.
    Mix all other ingredients.
    Add to raisins, water and soda.
    Divide batter into greased (three 1-pound) coffee cans. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    Remove from cans to wire rack to cool.
    Place on side to slice.
