Apple Jonathan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 apples, sliced thin (6 c.)
    1/2 c. maple syrup
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. orange peel (optional)
    1/2 c. orange juice
Preparation
    In bowl, toss apples and syrup until apples are coated. Spread apples in a casserole dish.
    Cover and bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Mix sugar, butter and beaten egg.
    Stir in flour, orange peel and orange juice.
    Spread batter over hot apples. Return to oven.
    Bake 30 minutes more, uncovered.
