Tammy'S Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium potatoes
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    parsley flakes
    1 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    8 slices American cheese
Preparation
    Bring 8 cups water to a boil in a Dutch oven.
    Dice potatoes into 1/2-inch cubes and add to boiling water.
    Add salt, butter and garlic powder.
    Cook potatoes until tender.
    Add milk and cheese.
    Use potato masher and mash while hot.
    This will thicken mixture.
    Serve garnished with parsley flakes.
