Deep Dish Peach Pie - cooking recipe

4 c. sliced peaches
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

Place peaches in 8 x 12-inch buttered casserole dish.
Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar and nutmeg.
Sift together flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt.
Cut in shortening; add milk and egg and mix until just blended.
Spread over fruit.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 50 minutes.
